Should I buy the base trim on the Hyundai Elantra?

The 2018 Hyundai Elantra is a budget-friendly sedan that car shoppers in all price points should consider. However, if your budget is tight you are likely considering one of the first two trim levels on the 2018 Elantra to keep the costs as low as possible. So is the base trim enough or will you need to spend a little more out of the gate to get a vehicle you can really enjoy? Find out below in this 2018 Hyundai Elantra SE trim vs SEL trim comparison presented to you by the Chris Auffenberg Family of Dealerships in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Which Hyundai Models are Available with Apple CarPlay?

2018 Hyundai Elantra SE Trim vs SEL Trim

SE Trim Standard Features

A complete redesign in the 2017 model year means that all 2018 Hyundai Elantra trim levels enjoy quality interiors and dynamic handling that is sure to please. With that being said, the base SE trim is fairly basic offering everything you need but not much more. However, the low starting MSRP of $16,950* could be worth it for a newly redesigned model if you are willing to sacrifice on extra features.

SEL Trim Standard Features

For not much more than the starting MSRP on the base trim, car shoppers can upgrade to the SEL trim where they will enjoy a longer list of standard features to help them enjoy the journey. The SEL trim has a starting MSRP of $18,850* and comes standard with features like automatic headlights, a rearview camera, keyless entry and ignition, active safety features, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and more. If it was up to us, we would probably splurge on the SEL trim. The extra features more than make up for the added cost.
