The Blazer is back. The popular Chevy SUV model is returning to the lineup in between the Equinox and Traverse for the 2019 model year. Much to the dismay of loyal Blazer fans, Chevy previously halted the production of Blazer models in 2005. Find the release date and photos for the new and improved version below.
“Chevrolet has been at the forefront of each of the major automotive industry trends by anticipating consumer demand and delivering innovative products like Bolt EV, Colorado and Trax. The introduction of the all-new Blazer builds on that momentum and further strengthens the most comprehensive lineup of crossovers and SUVs on the market today,” said Alan Batey, president of GM North America and head of Global Chevrolet.

Blazer fans still have a while to wait before they see 2019 Blazer models in Chevy showrooms. Chevy has said that they have plans to release the all-new Blazer nationwide in early 2019, hopefully in January. It’s good timing for buyers who plan to purchase as soon as it hits their local dealership as they can test the 2019 Blazer’s available AWD capability on snow-covered roads.
The midsize SUV will offer seating for up to five passengers and 64.2 cubic feet of space in the back for cargo when the second-row seats are folded flat. A brand-new Chevy cargo management system is also available with a cargo fence and rail system that helps to corral items neatly into the cargo storage area. Other available stand-out features include active safety, AWD, a rearview camera with hitch view, a max towing capacity of up to 4,500-pounds when properly equipped, and a powerful engine lineup.
