2019 Chevy Silverado Engine Options and Performance Specs

2.7-Liter Turbo Engine

The 2.7L turbo engine comes standard on 2019 Chevy Silverado LT and RST trims. While it’s the smallest in the lineup, it still delivers a healthy 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque which is plenty of power to tackle the open road.

3.0-Liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel Engine

Truck drivers interested in a diesel engine will have the option to add an available 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel on to LT, RST, LTZ, and High Country trims of the 2019 Silverado. The 3.0-liter diesel engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission system.

4.3-Liter V6 Engine

The Work Truck, Custom, and Custom Trail Boss trims come standard with a little extra power in the form of a 4.3-liter V6 engine with active fuel management that balances fuel-sipping capability with performance.

5.3-Liter V8 Engine

The 5.3-liter V8 engine is available with a dynamic fuel management system or an active fuel management system. In either scenario, this engine pumps out 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque for a little extra oomph.

6.2-Liter V8 Engine

The award-winning 6.2-liter V8 engine with dynamic fuel management on the 2019 Silverado is its most powerful with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and is available on LTZ and High Country configurations.

“General Motors’ thundering 420-horsepower V-8 in the Silverado exemplifies how engineers continue to find ways to improve efficiency without giving up something in return. DFM determines 80 times per second exactly how many cylinders require fuel to meet power demands. And, incredibly, it uses as few as two cylinders to propel the full-size pickup down the highway,” says Senior Content Director Drew Winter. “The truly amazing part is the cylinder deactivation is imperceptible, so seamless that the only thing the driver notices is fewer stops at the pump.”
