Apple CarPlay is getting a lot of attention for its ability to keep drivers safely connected to their phones while on the road. Most 2017 Hyundai models are coming out of the factory with Apple CarPlay installed making it easy for owner’s to plug in their phones and go. If your Hyundai model did not come standard with Apple CarPlay, you are not out of luck. Many Hyundai models now have an Apple CarPlay software update available. Available features and design of the 2017 Hyundai Tucson
To download and install the Apple CarPlay update on your vehicle you will need your vehicle’s VIN number, a USB stick or memory card from your vehicle’s navigation system, a compatible iPhone, a data plan, and a lightning cable. Start by logging in to your myhyundai.com account to access the free download. Once there, Hyundai will walk you through the download process. You can also watch the YouTube videos below for further instructions. Expect the download to take between 15 minutes to an hour depending on vehicle model and internet speed.
How long can I go between oil changes?
If your Hyundai vehicle did not come with Apple CarPlay installed at the factory, you could be eligible for an update. If you have an Apple iPhone with iOS 9.0 or higher and have one of the below Hyundai models equipped with Display Audio or Navigation, you should be able to download Apple CarPlay using the instructions above.

This is great, but there is a lot of missing information. For example, where do i find the SD card? There are no videos showing where it is or how to get it from the vehicle. This would be helpful.
I have a 2016 sonata which does not have an SD card in the front of the radio. Where else would it be?
youi dont have n SD card even though they say "SD" its actually the USB slot and you use a flahs drive ... aka thumb drive etc ...

I'm not in USA, i have a 2017 Santafe sport ( Europe order) and i want to update my multimedia system to have carplay (currently my car does not have carplay).
i have tried so many ways including registering on myhyundai.com and etc. but it did not work for me as i could not download anything.
would it be possible you do me a favor and share with me in my email, an offline link that i can download this update?
